In 2004 my mom started her own grooming salon and all throughout high school and college I would help her after class and on the weekends. I graduated college with a degree in environmental science and a plan to save any wildlife I could and their habitat. After an internship at a sanctuary in California, I came home and started working full time in her grooming salon. After being away for 5 months I realized not only how much I missed my job and my regular fur clients, but how I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else.

After 14 years of working in the family business it was time to start a pet spa of my own, and in 2018 I opened Ready to Paw-ty. I was fortunate enough to be able to bring the pet spa I had always envisioned to life, right down to the turquoise tile border around the bath tubs.

Shortly after I opened Ready to Paw-ty, I took Ellie (the red pup) to the vet to have a lump checked and that is when I learned she had developed a heart murmur. I took her for an echocardiogram to determine how advanced it was. The cardiologist gave me several suggestions to help slow the progress of heart disease; I was willing to try anything. Everything she suggested had to do with her diet and that is what led me down the path of shopping and feeding natural. I started learning as much as I could about heart disease and canine nutrition and realized the expensive food I was feeding and thought was good, was actually mostly fillers and by-products. I started driving 30 minutes to buy them quality food with real meat, no preservatives, dyes, or additives. With no where close by carrying healthy dog food, cat food, and treats Ready to Paw-ty Pet Spa shortly grew to include 1250 sq ft of natural pet foods.
